SMS / Text Message Program

Ethos National operates the Ethos mobile app, a peer-accountability app that helps men recover from pornography use. We send a small number of account-related text messages to users who provide and verify their mobile phone number during signup. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.

Messages we send by SMS

• Account verification codes: a one-time code when you sign up or sign in.
• Onboarding completion reminders: if you begin creating an account but don't finish, we send a reminder to come back and complete setup.

Other in-app activity (accountability group and meeting notifications) is delivered as push notifications, not SMS.

How you opt in

1. You download the Ethos app and begin signup.
2. On the phone-number screen, you enter your mobile number.
3. Directly above the "Get verification code" button, the screen displays:

   "By tapping 'Get verification code,' you agree to receive account-related text messages from Ethos at the number provided, including reminders to finish setting up your account. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."

4. Tapping "Get verification code" verifies your number and constitutes your opt-in.

Program details

• Message frequency: Varies. Most users receive only verification codes; users who don't finish signup may receive a small number of reminders.
• Message and data rates may apply. Ethos does not charge a fee for SMS.
• Opt out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You'll receive one final confirmation message.
• Help: Reply HELP, or contact us at support@ethosnational.org.
• Your mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
